After receiving her nail technician license in the state of Illinois in 2005, she had a desire. She was inspired by her nail instructor, Royan Williams of Chicago Nail School in Illinois, to open a nail school. But she never pursued it. Rolonda worked with her oldest sister, Ronda Payne, the owner and administrator of Midwest Elite Preparatory Academy in Indiana.
Seeing her older sister, she was inspired and encouraged to step out and fulfill her desire. However, after opening Kay Moriah Nail Spa, she began to see how beneficial not only a nail school but a full-service beauty school would be to many people around her, especially young high-school graduates.
At the time, Rolonda decided to open a non-government funded beauty school. This is because it allows her to be more creative and have more freedom to help draw out the creativity in her students. At the same time, it allows her to educate them more in their craft.
